Diane Browne, PostNet store owner and Chamber member, has won the coveted BEST OF SHOW award in the Midland Arts Association juried fall art show with a mixed media presentation of a horned toad and prickly pear cactus titled “Horns ‘N Thorns”. She also received a Merit award for her pump jack entry “Pump Jack on the Prairie”. The juror for the show was Lynn Smiser Bowers, who for more than 20 years has been a professional potter, and currently works as a studio potter in Kansas City, MO. Out of the approximately 220 entries from 100 artists entered, Bowers chose 119 representing 72 artists for the competition. Accepted media included: original ceramics, sculpture, glass, drawing, graphics, painting, fiber, photography and mixed media. Artwork from these area artists will remain on display at the Midland College Fine Arts Building through November 16. For further information, go to www.midlandartsassociation.org.

In addition, Diane has printed many of her works on greeting cards for sale at her PostNet store located in the Plaza Oaks Shopping Center at Wadley and Garfield. She will also be displaying a chili pepper creation in the lobby of the upcoming Maverick Production “Grandest Canyon”. Several other artists’ works will also be on display through the play’s run from November 2 thru November 18. For theatre tickets or information call 522-5225. If you would like your own creations on greeting cards, call Diane at PostNet 570-8980 to find out how!
