MHCC
has one of a few non-profit in-house incubator programs in Texas
and the only one in the West Texas area. The MHCC Incubation Program
provides early stage businesses or home based businesses ready to
move to an office environment with resources that will help them
succeed. Each incubator accepted into the program has access to
an office and office equipment as well as other shared resources
like a copier, which reduces initial start up expenses.
Business Incubation is a proven model that catalyzes the process of starting and
growing companies and provide entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks, and tools
they need to make their ventures successful. Graduates have the potential to create
jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, introduce creative strategies, and strengthen local
economies. MHCC Incubators contributed $1.5M to our local economy in 2006.
Nation-wide,
87% of companies started in incubator programs have gone on to succeed,
and have remained in business.
Developed
specifically for new businesses and home-based businesses ready
to advance, the program offers business development counseling and
a cooperative environment that utilizes shared resources, which
lower a company's overhead and increases their capacity to succeed
long-term.
The
MHCC Business Development Center nurtures its clients, enabling
growth through support services and assistance in bringing services
