Mex-Tex Family Fiesta   Scharbauer Sports Complex    The Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce thanks YOU for a success-filled 2009 event!   Connect to our Facebook page for details of how volunteers braved the west Texas winds, the sites and comments of Mex-Tex 2009 (be sure to become of FAN of the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to see all the details and photos!)   22nd Annual West Texas Ford Dealers Mex-Tex Family Fiesta!   Only in the  United States is it possible to enjoy authentic Mexican breakfast, an authentic Italian lunch, and a delicious Chinese cuisine for dinner all in one day.  One day in the United States and you have completely immersed yourself in a plethora of unique world cultures.  The diverse cultures that make up the United States can be compared to the fabric of a quilt.  Each unique and colorful fabric comes together to create a quilt that is both beautiful and warm.  With diversity being on of the greatest assets, iti is a tragedy that age-old customs and traditions have visibly diminished from one generation to the next.  In 1987, the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce leadership came together to develop programs and activities in hopes of reversing this trend.

The Mex-Tex Family Fiesta has evolved into a Celebration of the Hispanic Culture, which showcases the unique art, dance, music and food that runs rampant through the southwestern United States and Mexico. A family event for every member of the community! This event has grown over the 21 years into THE Premier Hispanic Culture Event with over 15,000 people from the Permian Basin attending the two day event.
