Small Business of the Month Micro Grant Program Application

The Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Midland Development Corporation, is excited to offer the Small Business of the Month Micro Grant Program to the Midland business community. One winner each month will be selected to receive a grant of $1000!

Eligibility Requirements

Application Process:

• Applications are accepted monthly, due by the second Friday of each month.

• The MHCC Economic Development Committee, along with representatives from sponsor organizations, will review all applications.

• Applications not selected will remain eligible for reconsideration for up to six months.

Selection Criteria:

• Is the applicant a member of the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce?

• Is the applicant's business based in Midland Texas?

• Is the applicant actively involved with the Chamber?

• Has the business been operational for at least six months at the time of application?

• Does the business have fewer than 50 full-time employees?

• Was the business's revenue below $5 million in the previous fiscal year?

• What is the proposed use of the grant funds?

• Is the applicant a for-profit or nonprofit entity?

Permissible Uses for Award Funds: 

Award funds may be applied toward, but are not limited to:

• Marketing materials (e.g., signs, banners, brochures, mailers)

• IT equipment, software, and supplies

• Website development or upgrades

• Staff training and development

• Office furniture

• Point-of-sale, security, and A/V equipment

If selected, award funds can be reimbursed for purchases made after the award notification date. Awardees are strongly encouraged to make purchases from fellow Midland Hispanic Chamber members.

Additional Information:

• Previous award recipients are eligible to reapply after two years (e.g., a 2023 winner may reapply in 2025).

• Awards cannot be applied to purchases made before the date of award notification.
